Sobre The Adicts
Adopting the look of the droogs in A Clockwork Orange, the Adicts' poppy Punk is much more benign than Anthony Burgess' group of English deviants. Like many U.K. Punk bands, the Adicts formed in 1976 while they were still in their early teens; unlike most of their peers, however, they didn't really make a name for themselves until the early 1980s, by which time most of their contemporaries had risen and fallen with equal velocity. The Adicts still possess a knack for writing charging melodies with infectious, sing-along lyrics. Their songs have both a sharp-toothed bite and an innocent pop quality to them -- something which helped them climb into the U.K. charts with their second album. They're still at it, playing catchy, punchy Punk songs. They haven't changed their formula too much, but they're not close to getting dull, either.
