Stan Meets Chet
Stan Getz and Chet Baker were two 1950s cool jazz stars who were renowned for their extreme self-centeredness and lifelong issues with substance abuse. They couldn't stand each other, perhaps because they noticed all their own character flaws in the other person. That said, they still played together a few times, though this 1958 meeting is their weakest collaboration. While it's non-essential, with Getz dominating a weak Baker, it still isn't too shabby. What was considered a major disappointment during the 1950s actually sounds decent today.
