Justice began their careers by injecting house music with heavy-metal attitude; now they go full-on prog. Far less club-oriented than their previous work, Audio, Video, Disco sprawls like a gatefold double LP from the '70s, from the harpsichords and vocal harmonies of "Ohio" to the baroque flirtations of "Canon"; there are nods to Floyd, Zep, Sabbath and the Who in both the jagged riffs and contorted changes. The change suits them well: Easing off the distortion and leaving the 'ed banging to their electro peers, they turn out to be proper pop musicians.
