The title track kicks things off on such a freaking awesome high that it may help you sail past the couple of bum tracks on this 1973 release. For all of Lennon's talk about wanting to have the freedom to rock, here it's his ballads and mid-tempo numbers that really soar: the expansive "Aisumasen," the joyous "I know (I know)" and the country-ish "You Are Here." That said, “Freeda People” is one of his best political rockers – and features the kind of surreal and playful lyrics that are often missing from his solo work.
