Gravadora: Jack Johnson
Reunited with Mario Caldato, Jr., who produced In Between Dreams, his most commercially successful full-length to date, Jack Johnson offers up yet another set of Hawaii-inspired folk-pop perfect for lazy afternoons at the beach. Though he expanded his sonic palette oh so slightly on predecessor To the Sea, this time around the surfing singer-songwriter keeps things stripped down and acoustic, for the most part. Dashes of existential worry do creep their way into the album's second half (namely "Ones and Zeroes," "Change" and "As I Was Saying") but not enough to spoil Johnson's luau, luckily.
