By 1979, rockers could choose to go disco, go punk or just go completely soft rock. George Harrison gathered a group of LA session players and took the soft-rock route on this pleasant set. Like John and Paul, George had enough talent to sound good even when he was coasting, so trifles like "Here Comes the Moon" and "Soft-Hearted Hana" are completely disarming. By the way, check out the far superior version of "Not Guilty" heard on the Beatles' Anthology 3. Melodic, but tense and paranoid, it was another of George's songs that John and Paul were wrong not to bring into the fold.
